Marfrío strengthens its excellence in taste with new Superior Taste Awards 2026 recognitions

At Marfrío, we have once again been internationally recognized for the quality and taste of our products following the recent Superior Taste Awards 2026, granted by the International Taste Institute in Brussels. We thus reaffirm our commitment to excellence, maintaining recognition for several of our most representative products. In this edition, our Patagonian Squid, Giant Squid Tentacles, IQF Breaded Squid Strips and IQF Squid Rings have once again been awarded, standing out for their sensory quality within their respective categories. The Superior Taste Award is one of the most prestigious international certifications in the food and beverage sector and is granted following a demanding sensory evaluation process carried out through blind tastings. In this edition, nearly 3,000 products were evaluated by an international jury composed of more than 250 chefs and sommeliers, who assess key aspects such as visual appearance, aroma, taste, texture and aftertaste. These awards certify different levels of taste excellence, positioning awarded products as benchmarks in their category. In a context where food innovation increasingly focuses on nutritional value, taste remains a decisive factor for consumer acceptance. For us, this recognition supports our strategy focused on quality, consistency and continuous improvement. This was the 26th edition of Conxemar.

Once again, Marfrío attended Conxemar 2025, held from October 7th to 9th at the IFEVI in Vigo. Three intense days of meetings, presentations and exchanges with clients, suppliers and industry colleagues. Our stand was once again a meeting point for frozen seafood professionals, where we showcased our latest innovations and strengthened connections with international partners. The atmosphere, as always, was fantastic. We would like to thank everyone who visited us and shared these days of work, enthusiasm and growth. Marfrio at the 26th edition of Conxemar

Once again, the Marfrio team will be taking part in Conxemar. From October 7th to 9th, you can find us at stand 1B28 at IFEVI, Vigo. For the thirteenth consecutive year, several Marfrío products have been awarded the Superior Taste Award 2025 by the prestigious International Taste Institute, based in Brussels. This international recognition reaffirms our company’s commitment to excellence, highlighting the quality and flavour of our seafood products. This year, the jury once again recognised four of our top products: Patagonian Squid, Giant Squid Tentacles, IQF Squid Rings, and IQF Squid Strips, evaluated through a blind tasting by over 200 chefs and sommeliers of international renown. Products are scored based on the five criteria of the Hedonic Sensory Analysis: visual aspect, aroma, flavour, texture, and final sensation.
